In 2009, I began a 1-year course with «Power Pilates» in Zurich to be able to teach at all levels. Alongside several varied and subsidiary training courses, I undertook a course specifically in Pregnancy and Back-Formation.
Posture and movement are an external expression of internal equilibrium and a balanced disposition as a means by which one can go through life in «standing position». Attention to and concentration on the here and now – then letting go, dreaming, relaxing. Everything has its time in our lives. Balance is the key!
Pilates is a holistic method of movement which promotes flexibility and balance in equal measure. Specifically, trunk musculature is strengthened, particularly the muscles in the abdomen and the back. This improves posture over the long term. An important part of the training is also breathing techniques as well as the executing of deliberate processes of movement, both of which promote concentration and equilibrium. Since the limbs are also protected using this method, it is a preferred technique during rehabilitation.
